People have been wondering what has to come next after the wizardblogging and clownblogging and whatever and my pitch is medieval monks. Like we can all pretend to be tonsured.
#some of us do not have to pretend #fuck it real face #ffvii
bro you have got to be kidding me (look at the breed labels)
this is literally just from the first 2 pages on this shelter’s website
im speachless.
Mixed with What bro. SAY IT
You are correct, the shelter *is* obscuring the dogs’ breed to make them look more adoptable.
However, TL;DR: obscuring dog breeds in shelters is an incredibly disingenuous and unethical practice, and in some cases can be legitimately dangerous. I will explain why as concisely and kindly as possible below.
i know i just reblogged this a few hours ago but i keep thinking about this man and his powerful emanations. i think this might actually be the physical manifestation of the soul of new york city. if he dies the city itself becomes pillars of dust
Like I said in a reblog :I grew up across the way from here this dudes been here forever and is STILL there even though the pigeon culture from before has been pushed out. He has weathered Gentrification like no other.
one day i will have a little apartment with a friend and my room will be relatively clean and i’ll write every day and there will always be fruit on a bowl on the table or in some containers in the fridge and we’ll play music without headphones and it will all be okay
I think part of the reason it’s so hard to discuss abortion’s importance for any woman’s life is because we would have to actually talk about how much harder having children makes your life.
We discuss mommy penalties on working moms, but always under the assumption that the child was wanted.
We don’t talk about the woman with the unplanned pregnancy, crying in her bathroom alone at night cause she can’t get her baby to sleep and also she has a big conference call tomorrow.
We don’t talk about the resentment a 20 year old feels after dropping out of college and moving back home to raise a kid she never planned for, watching her future slip away, knowing it’ll be years, decades likely, before she can finish her degree (if she’s ever able to).
Families with planned pregnancies already struggle to find childcare. Do you honestly think a young single mother has an easier time juggling a job and a baby, all alone?!
We think of it as selfish for choosing an abortion to complete college of move further in your career, but there are scores of men out there who simply dip out and disappear when they find out their One Night Stand is pregnant. They face relatively few consequences.
No suburban mom wants to admit that she knows she would encourage her 16 year old daughter to get an abortion if she fell pregnant, but we all know that’s precisely what would happen cause mom doesn’t want her daughter to lose her future to diapers and 3 am feedings.
But I do think these are conversations that need to be slowly introduced, one on one, to women who are on the fence.
Answer me honestly; if your kid was pregnant in college, what would you tell her to do?
